Nate Sterling, the creative force behind MonoDeaf, an Ohio-based electronic music producer with a story as powerful as his sound. At just six years old, a car accident left Nate with permanent hearing loss in his right ear, but he refused to let adversity define him. Growing up in a musical family, he turned challenges into motivation, teaching himself music production and shaping a bold, genre-blurring style that fuses dubstep, future bass, trap, and R&B soul.Nate's journey led him to study music technology in college and graduated from ICON Collective, where he refined his skills and vision. He’s released tracks through labels like Free Music Wave, Future Bass Records and launched his own record label, BLCK CLD COLLECTIVE, a hub for rising talents and established artists in the heavy electronic music scene.MonoDeaf isn’t just a name, it’s a testament to resilience, passion, and the unstoppable pursuit of artistic dreams against the odds of nature. With future music on the horizon, MonoDeaf is undoubtedly an artist to watch — and hear first.

The mark

My logo forms the letter “M”, but its meaning runs much deeper than typography. The two vertical shapes represent audio’s left and right channels, a nod to the world I create in as a producer. The right side is intentionally fractured and broken apart — a visual metaphor for my real-life hearing impairment. It symbolizes how I experience sound differently, and how that challenge has shaped my identity, creativity, and approach to music. What started as a simple, clean mark evolved into something more personal — a reminder that limitations can become part of your art, not obstacles to it.

Spotify Wrapped 2025

2025 has been a transformative year. In the past, I relied primarily on releasing tracks and hoping the right ears would eventually find them. This year, I shifted my mindset. I began studying audience behavior, experimenting with targeted promotion, and learning the nuances of playlist ecosystems and listener engagement. Through persistence and a willingness to adapt, the results have been remarkable. My growth across listeners, streams, saves, and playlist placements reflects more than numbers — it's proof that intentional effort and informed strategy can change the trajectory of an independent artist. These achievements are a direct result of building stronger roots: investing in visibility, understanding where my music resonates most, and showing up consistently. This year has reinforced that music promotion isn’t about chasing virality. It’s about learning what makes interest turn into discovery, and discovery turn into support. The foundation laid in 2025 is only the beginning, and I’m excited to build on everything I’ve learned as I continue to reach new audiences around the world.
